Health professionals with Chris's skill set are very short in supply. His ability to assess, treat, and convey information to his clients makes him invaluable. This has allowed me the unique ability to refer my patients to him after their rehabilitation is complete , and most importantly, for injury prevention. He has single handedly allowed me to complete the chain of care that I strive for in my practice.
I started training with Chris Sokol-White in the spring of 2015 and in just a few weeks noticed a significant improvement in how I looked and felt! I had worked out with other trainers for years, but Chris really zeroed in and helped me take my fitness to the next level. Over the last 2 years I've continued to progress under Chris' instruction. He is constantly researching and fine tuning for continuous improvement. Chris combines knowledge and a passion for helping others realize their potential with a wonderful personality and sense of humor that makes workout time fly by!
I have been training with Chris for 9 months now. I am 63 years old and had never been in a fitness program like this before. I put my trust in Chris and he showed me that you can teach an old dog new tricks.
I had a stroke 4 years prior and have a few limitations and some doctor's instructions which Chris has incorporated into my overall fitness plan.
I can honestly say that Chris's regimen for me has been life changing. I went from trepidation and doubt to looking forward to every work out and every improvement in my overall health.
Chris patiently and methodically has been building my core step by step and I have been amazed at the process and the growth. He takes the time to explain each exercise, along with it's goal, and especially the 'proper' technique, and why it's so important. I am stronger, more flexible, and my balance has improved greatly. These were my goals going in and my expectations have been exceeded.
Thank you Chris!
Muscles. Chris gave me muscles, and so much more. He’s a phenomenal trainer who has transformed how I look and feel.
Although I’ve been active my whole life, I was beginning to feel like a frail little old lady. Could Chris make me – a 58-year old grandmother - stronger without exacerbating chronic neck issues? (Of course he could.)
Five months after beginning twice-a-week private sessions with Chris, I’m amazed at how much better I feel. I lift grandbabies without pain. There are lovely muscles in my arms (I am wearing sleeveless shirts again). My whole body feels stronger and better. It’s kind of amazing, really.
Chris plans my workout before we meet (he’s prepared) and the workout is always different, fun, and challenging. He teaches while he trains, so I’ve gained knowledge about exercise. Chris pays attention to my smallest movements to ensure I don’t hurt myself but instead get maximum benefit from the work.
Now for the “so much more” part: Chris is funny, smart, interesting and interested. He encourages me and makes me laugh so much that I forget how hard he’s making me work. (He makes me work hard – did I mention that? Very hard!) He has given me great guidance on diet and exercise – but also on books, restaurants, doctors, vacation spots, hair stylists, and life in general. He’s transformed how I feel, and I’m grateful for that. He’s also become one of my favorite people on the planet.
I’m confident Chris is a trainer for all sorts of people – young, old, men, and women. He knows what he’s doing. He has my highest recommendation, and my gratitude.
Chris is a wonderful trainer! I lost inches I didn’t even know I needed to lose. I got stronger and had a lot of fun while working out with him. He is very knowledgeable and can adapt his training to meet your body’s needs. My knees have seen many miles, but he was able to work with me to rebalance my strength. He will be greatly missed in Houston, but will be a real asset for Sante Fe.
There are many reasons why I love working with Chris as my personal trainer, but these are the 3 most important to me:
Chris respects where I am that day. On days when I have a little extra in the tank, he gently nudges me to attempt athletic feats that I am surprised to find myself capable of. On the other hand, when I am recovering from illness or injury, he alters his workout plan to give me a good workout while respecting whatever limitations I have that day.
Chris is extremely knowledgeable about his chosen line of work and has a lot of different approaches to fitness and strength training. I am very routine-oriented and, left to my own devices, I would quickly fall into a comfortable rut of doing the same thing every day. Chris does not do ruts, comfortable or otherwise. In working with him, I have discovered that both body and mind respond much better to workout variety.
Chris has a great sense of humor. It is very important to me to work with someone who can laugh, because then it doesn’t seem so much like “work”. There have been plenty of sessions where we laughed so much that I was genuinely surprised when he told me time was up for the day. If only I’d realized that working with a personal trainer could actually be fun, I wouldn’t have waited so late in life to start!
